tigers

So before I got hideuosly busy in the month of June I was working on something that was supposed to be a nice new project for bags and possibly other things. They so far have not left the concept/sketch phase... But here they are, so you can have a wee look at what's to come. (On things I did in June I shall write when the right time comes ;) )
 sketch 1.
sketch 2 (unfinished as it wasn't right anyway)
sketch 3 the rare hamster tiger

Bassetting

I had a bit of an uncreative few weeks. I was working my bum off and these few drawings were lying around, scanned but not touched for a while... I think I go through phases of how much I can get done, and now the busy phase is back on :)

When it comes to pets I am mainly a cat person. But I generally love all animals with few exceptions (pests). So yeah, I do like dogs too! I don't know if I could pick a favourite kind. Bassets are definitely a runner up though! I am planning on drawing some "character" dogs, similar to jumper cats. So I did a few preliminary sketches of bassets just to get a feel for them. The last one is surely my favourite! I will do more though and yes, you can expect them here.

owl sketches

I haven't done much drawing of this kind for a while now, and thought it would be nice to do it for a change. they are sort of preliminary drawings for some painting things I will be doing soon :) I am looking more and more forward to the tree freedom.

Halloween and life of a drawing uncovered.

I know it is still over a month until Halloween, but I am preparing something special Halloween-themed :). This post is a teaser-trailer and my way of working UNCOVERED.

This is a rough guide how this drawing came to life.
1. Sketch number one. Legs are missing - appalling. (Human age equivalent 0-1 months old)
2. Sketch number two. A potential, needing refinement. (Human age equivalent 1-12 months old)
3. Refinement in progress. (Human age equivalent 1-5 years old)
4. Inking complete with extra thing happening on the side. (Human age equivalent 18 years old)
5. Colors done (above), and extras etc cleaned up. (Human age equivalent 21 years old. After that it's not growing up anymore, just ageing).

Hyena and Evil Elephant

I have spent a lovely afternoon with Laura D. just before she left for her exchange (which I am sure is amazing). That day we had a very important mission. We had to write a letter for the king!

It's because Hyena (by Laura D) and Evil Elephant (by myself) were having a fight...

It is not certain who has won, but the fight was long and violent!

(Images so small cos there is a ton of them. You can click to zoom!)

I'm having some jammie dodgers and tea, waiting for plaster moulds to set. It's my first time, fingers crossed it will work!

Lifedrawing

Some more lifedrawing. I quite liked this session, although covering up model with hideous costumes occured. The first drawing is my favourite, the rest is... Experiments. "There is no failed experiments, just experiments with unexpected results" (or something like that) that Bucky Fuller said.

test

So I finally set this thing up... This is supposed to have lots of my drawings at some point. At the moment - just this:

It's one of lifedrawings I did for one of college projects (called "Drawing surgery", for which we are supposed to... draw!). Initial sketch has been messed with on the computer.

Oh, and if you click on it you get the full size! Whoa! ;)

I am actually hoping that I will manage to update pretty regularly. And turn this into a blogfolio type of thing... ONE DAY!
